Kirsi Halonen

Hello!

Finally there's a reason to write: Mika's #1 in Formula One !!!!! How nerve wrecking it was to watch the race and hope for the best, but it was worth it. Tapio went to watch Mika drive in Hungary, he came first then too, so he heard our national anthem live there!! Tapio wants to go next year too, but to a different country for a change.

We haven't had any snow yet. After a very warm and sunny summer, we've had a warm fall, so it'll be weird when it starts getting colder. We have to have winter tires (or whatever you call them) in our cars no later than the end of November. We haven't changed yet, although it's getting risky to drive with normal tires, because there can easily be black ice on the roads in the mornings.

We've sent invitations to Marcus' birthday on the 15th. I can't believe he'll be six. He started playing soccer this spring (that "practice" at the reunion has paid off!!!). So far he's shot one goal in the tournaments they've had. He seems to enjoy playing!! At home he often plays with the computer, usually either NHL or SimCity. He's just learned to play chess with Tapio and he's quite good at it!

We haven't traveled overseas since the reunion, except to Amsterdam by car during Easter break. Wanted to check out the tulips! We bought a brand new car just one week before Easter: Mercedes Benz E type!! So driving with it was quite enjoyable.

I still work in the same company as before, in December I'm starting my ninth year. By that, you can probably guess that I enjoy my work!

Hopefully some of you want to come and see the country where Mika's from (actually his parents live about 5 minute drive away) and at the same time visit us!! We have many interesting and beautiful places to show, so drop in!! You're welcome to come!

Thanks Joanna for all your trouble, start planning a visit here, as we planned!!

Merry Christmas and God's blessings to all of you!!

Love,

Kirsi
