Hello Class,
I guess my wife and I had fallen of the face of the planet for a while.
Actually, we are still in the Pacific Northwest living 40 minutes south of
Seattle. No children, but two endearing cats.
In the spring of 2001 we finally started attending church again. We found
a smaller church in our neighborhood with a lot of couples our age. When
they let us sing on their worship team, we knew we had found the right
place. God has blessed us at this church immensely! I was able to help
start their first men's weekly small group and really become part of the
entire men's ministry.
Although vice president of the company and receiving a bi-weekly paycheck,
Loretta really doesn't do squat for our moving company. She earns her
stripes at the family clinic where she works 36 plus hours a week. Of
course she does a lot more of the chores around the home, so she earns
that extra check making up for my uselessness around the house.
God has blessed our moving company, Apex Movers. In July of 2001 we signed
a contract with a larger moving company in the Seattle area as their
sub-contractor. So we do all their jobs for them. Overnight, the company
jumped from three part time employees to eleven mostly full-time
employees.
That jump was very overwhelming! I quit my secure job and jumped somewhat
blindly into this moving service being my twenty four hour- seven day a
week- all encompassing lifestyle. Thank the Lord for my friends and family
covering me in prayer.
I know God is using my business as a ministry as well as a source of
income. The last couple of months have been much better as I have been
able to hire some strong Christian men to surround and support me.
Everyday still brings a new trial and challenge, and I welcome them (not
that I like them). God has been using these to grow me... through so many
failures, he still continues to bless our family and business.
Please pray for us. You can check out our web site at apexmovers.com (It
will be updated soon.) We welcome any of you to come and visit us if you
are out this way. At least give us a phone call.
