Dear Class,
Since Bruce challenged us to write a quick update by the end of the year,
I thought I'd better write a little note. I will write more later and
send pictures. I am currently in the ER at 2am and getting paid quite
well to write this letter!
I haven't sent in an update in several years. Life sure has changed!!!
My wife, Yemiko, and I have three children. Christian (7), Caleb (4) and
Isabella Rose (6 months). They are a blast! They are all wonderful. .
.in their own ways.
My wife had been teaching music/piano at Rockford College in their
children's music academy. She has retired and is now homeschooling
Christian. This has been a trying but wonderful experience for both of
them. Christian has made a lot of progress the past three months.
I finished a Family Practice Residency Program in Rockford, IL recently.
I worked an additional 3000+ hours in local ERs and in a dermatology
clinic. I had several awesome offers for full-time work, but the Army
decided to keep me.
We will be moving to Fort Bragg, NC in 2 weeks! I will start on January
16th. We have no idea where we will live. . .so we might rent for a few
months until we are settled in. Besides being in Family Practice for the
Army, I have several part-time positions lined up at a few of the
surrounding ERs. I
am also considering opening up an aesthetics practice.
Christian (age 7) has been doing a lot of BMX racing. He also plays the
piano beautifully. He is kind of a skinny, smooth kid. He has HUGE hands
and great touch. He is a very sensitive lefty-handed cutie pie.
Caleb (age 4) is a truck. He only weighs about 3 pounds lighter than
Christian. He is a very gifted athlete! His chest, arms, legs, etc. are
actually a little larger than Christian's. We have to be very careful not
to have them compete against each other so that Christian doesn't feel
"weak". But we still want to push Caleb (as he pushes Christian).
Both boys love BMX (and every other sport). The have their bikes on
trainers in the basement during the winter. Christian actually gets mad
at me if I don't wake him up to ride the trainer with me at 6AM before I
go to work. He's crazy. I think he just wants to spend time with Daddy.
. .
Isabella Rose is a PERFECT baby. She is absolutely gorgeous. She never
cries unless something is really wrong. We couldn't ask for a better
little girl. However, I can't help but spoil her. I'm sure we will get
"pay back" when she is older.
I've got a patient coming in. . .so I'd better go. I'll write after we
get settled in NC. I'll send some pictures, too. Take care.
